This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Grand Prix Festival of Watkins Glen and the 66th anniversary of the first post-World War II road race in the United States - held right here in Watkins Glen.  As in previous years, a tribute to the Grand Prix races are featured in a variety of events during this all day festival. Events include the Walk of Fame award ceremony, a historical lecture called The Legends Speak, a pre-race Tech Inspection at Smalley's Garage, and a judged automobile show, the The Chemung Canal Trust Company Concours d'Elegance.

This year's featured marque is the MG. To see an impressive collection of MGs, be sure to visit Lafayette Park at 2 pm.
Our Stone Bridge White wine depicts 1951 race winner Phil Walters crossing Cornett's Stone Bridge along the 6.6 mile Grand Prix circuit.

Quotes taken from our tasting notes upon the wine's release, the following still holds true today for these twelve year old wines.

2002 Estate Selection Chardonnay   $19
"Barrel fermented and aged in French oak for over a year, this wine is reminiscent of toasted hazelnuts, lemon and apples. Enjoy with shellfish, chicken and cheeses."

Finger Lakes Wine Month Begins

Celebrate Finger Lakes Wine Month May 2014! 

Join in all of the fun by visiting participating wine retailers, restaurants, wine bars, and featured wineries for specialty tasting events and promotions throughout the month of May.  You don't want to miss Finger Lakes Wine Hour on May 31 from 6-10 for the world's largest Finger Lakes wine virtual tasting experience. 

Atwater Winery will be "out and about" New York State this month bringing our best selections to wine shops, restaurants, and even the New York Botanical Gardens the weekend of May 3-4.   We will update our events calendar as we add more tasting opportunities.
