Vignoles (Ravat 51)
Oct 27 & 28, 2014
Harvest Brix Vignoles 28.8° Gewürztraminer 28.8°
July 30, 2015
Indulge yourself in the enchanting flavors of this luscious “iced” wine style. Abundant aromas of pineapple and peach are joined by tropical flavors of honey, apricot and lime delivering an opulent mouth feel.
The growing degree days for the season were in line with the long-term average of a typical vintage in the Finger Lakes. A harsh winter hung on into April. We were spared bud damage directly due to our vineyard location. It was a cool spring, thus holding bud break back until early May. The summer had some warm stretches but was mostly cool with lower humidity than in recent summers. July was wetter than normal but most importantly, August thru October saw below average rainfall with many dry, sunny days. The lower disease pressure throughout harvest allowed the grapes time to catch up and finish maturing before the first frost.
BLENDING INFORMATION: 65% Vignoles, 35% Gewürztraminer
Food Pairing Notes
Savor each succulent sip for an after-dinner experience or enjoy with apple pie and sharp New York cheddar. The sweet and slightly spice like flavors pair wonderfully with Asian cuisine.

This has been my absolute favorite Finger Lakes wine for years! I love sweet wine, and this definitely fills the bill. So good by itself or with dessert! Serve cold and you have an instant dessert wine that will give your family and friends something to talk about!
