What's New?

Spring took a drastic jump into summer last week as temperatures soared into the seventies, allowing the buds on the vines to break, coloring our stark world with various shades of green and yellow. Our vineyard crew, already well caught up on tying the vines, have been evaluating the new growth, letting us know how the vineyards survived the winter.  The initial outlook is good; we may even get a barrel or two out of our Syrah this year from our young three year old-vines!  For now, they are preparing the soil for some new plantings of Riesling, Vidal Blanc and Gewurztraminer.

Vintner Vinny and assistant Justin have begun the spring process of bottling the new vintages.  With a good start on our Banana Belt series and popular Estate series, the serious bottling begins next week with our 2007 Dry Riesling, 2007 Riesling and our inaugural 2007 Pinot Gris.

May brings excitement - new wines, fresh ideas, flowers in bloom, birds making their summer homes, local restaurants reopening for the season - you can feel the buzz of the busy season approaching - the Finger Lakes is like dancing water on a hot skillet.  Come visit us!
